German Fountain - Sultanahmet Square

Berdekatan Masjid SA ada pula sebuah lokasi tarikan nama German Fountain.

This historical fountain is located in Sultanahmet square across the tomb of Sultan Ahmet I. It was a present to the sultan and to the city by German Kaiser Wilhelm II. Made in Germany, in the neo-Byzantine style and ornamented inside with gold mosaic it was erected in Istanbul in 1901.

The German Fountain was built by German Emperor Wilhelm the 2nd, and presented as a gift to Sultan Abdülhamid II. It was first unveiled at the beginning of 1901 with a lavish commemoration ceremony.
