Masjid Sehzade (2)

Apakah istimewanya Masjid Sehzadeh? Ia merupakan masjid pertama yang direka oleh Sinan, arkitek Ottoman yang tersohor.

Sehzade Mosque was dedicated to one of the princes of Suleyman the Magnificient who died young. Sehzade Mehmed, the son of Suleyman and Hurrem was born in 1512 and died in 1543. 

Some believe that Sinan was building the mosque for Suleyman but experimenting with the weight of the dome, came to the conclusion he could be a bigger one, and as a result Suleyman dedicated the mosque to his son.
