The first Apple Macintosh was introduced on January 24, 1984, by Steve Jobs. The Macintosh computer was so different from everything else on the market, as well as everything Apple had released to date. It was a “different kind of Apple”.

Conceived in 1979 by Jef Raskin, Macintosh was envisioned as an affordable, easy-to-use computer for the masses. Raskin named the computer after his favorite type of aplle, the McIntosh. The initial team consisted of Raskin, hardware engineer Burrell Smith, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
